I indeed hold someone special to my heart...and if anything was about to happen to her, I'd leap infront or behind her (well depends what's heading in which direction).

It really depends. Personally, I would give up my own life to protect someone I love, or if it will help others in the long run, but to sacrifice your own life at the drop of a hat just shows you have little value in yourself.
