I don't think nations actually care enough about each other to get involved in a new world war over moral principles. There'd have to be a commodity at stake, like oil, so I suppose an oil war could happen any time...

I can't wait lol... maby not, I will not happen. Why? Because if any country makes a move they get blown up by nukes.

I kind of feel we are already in world war III, but the media doesn't want to talk about the war in the Middle East and other places. But, instead mostly talk about Celebrity gossip and other sensationalist stuff.

^Stop, saying China's rising economy might be one of the causes for fighting on a global scale. Wouldn't it be a good thing if China economy grew It be great if People in China have steady jobs, money for food and rent, and enjoy some of the luxuries western countries enjoy like poor people in china can afford cars, mp3 players, and vacations because they have well paying jobs. Chinese people probably won't want to go to war even more if their economy is good since they don't want to lose their good economy and be poor and miserable again by going to war with the US or any other country that are friends with the US. War is expensive.

Fine, I reword what I said earlier to not include WW3 since it doesn't really matter anyways. I feel westernize countries are at war with Terrorists who hate our way of life and want to convert us to their belief or kill and terrorize us, so they can make the world how they want it. But, the news in western countries spend too much time on sensationalist stories about celebrities and non-important things which keep us in the dark about what really is happening to the world.

When did I say its a bad thing, i said it would create a competition which american (i'm far from american) wouldn't like. War is expensive, the Cold War (nothing even happened), uh Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

Your right about the media ignoring real problems in the world, completely wrong about the rest. Stop being ignorant and ask yourself this "Why do terrorists want to kill us?" and come up with a sensible answer please not they want to make like what they want.

To be honest, I think even the most sadistic of leaders around the world right now realize what a terrible idea this would be. Using nuclear weapons would screw them over just as much as it would their enemies, and if they're smart enough to become the head of their country, they're smart enough to realize this.

World War III will probably come, somewhere in the future there will be a shortage of something (Fuels, Food, Living Space and so on) and as history shows us, most wars aren't fought over religion, race and so on but purely on the basis of the "they have something we want and we deserve it principle". Even things like the crusades weren't primarily for religion but more an excuse to plunder everything that moved, arguably WW 2 has been started for economic reasons (More living space for Germans, Resources in various captured countries and so on).

So I think it will come but impossible to say when, it could be in 10 years or in 300 years so many factors come to play before it will happen, so I'd say don't panic it will probably not happen soon.

With some I have my doubts but in general you are right, WW III won't start with nuclear weapons and nukes will probably only be used by a country/leader/faction that is on the loosing side and has no chance of winning, not only will the repercussions be hard, any possible land hit by nukes will be useless to a victor and since nobody in their right mind would start a war only to obliterate an opponent they won't start with nukes (plenty of other ugly bombs though moab and foab for example)

I'm taking the "Stand Alone Complex" view in regards to WW3. It won't be the end of us, but possibly a good example for military to move away from nuclear weapons into nanowarfare and cybernetics.

I hope this happens, because I'll be saving up money to become a cyborg.

We need another world war, maybe then our leaders will get there heads straight when a thermonuclear bomb is heading for them!

Has anyone ever noticed that most of mankinds technological advances occur during the great wars? Rocket Technology, New Materials, etc.

It is true that no-one dares attack another nuclear-armed state but they'll just over come that with something 'non-nuclear' that just as deadly.

Biological Weapons - these are evil, a nuke kills everthing, these things can kill in the most horrible ways, with some very evil diseases
