Title: College

Alright, how have your college plans been going? or have you even started?

I'm in my Junior year in Highschool and am Planning for college right now and for me its a b**ch. My best friend since seventh grade and I already planned on going to the same or colleges close to each other so we could be roomates. We planned on going down to florida becuase 1) thats where i wanted to go in the first place. and 2) our other best friend moved down their in eighth grade and we rarely get to see her so it would be awsome to have all of us living near each other. Everything was going great until my friend that had moved down to florida said that there might be a chance of her moving back up here for Senior year and college. now i've gotta find a college or two in VA that gives good classes for the courses i want to take just incase she does move up here, of course my other best friend already has like 5 different back ups up here :hmph

Well, honestly, you should have back ups, I had 4. Unfortunately for me, out of the 5 colleges I applied, I got into all but 1 which was my first pick, but oh well. I still got into a University, and living in the dorms here isn't really that bad, it's pretty fun.

Here's a few tips I can give you though, start finding back ups. You still have time to find a college that best suits you. It'd be fun to go to a college with your high school friends, but don't just go to a college because they want to go there. Second, if you want to move to Florida for college, do it. It may be hard but you will make a lot of friends in college and keep in touch with your friends from high school. There are a lot of means of keeping in contact. Third, I'm pretty sure there are a lot colleges around that offer the same quality courses you're looking for. And last, if you can always transfer into a better college that doesn't set your needs.

What school in Florida? I left most my friends to go to a school here, so far i'm liking it. I got some cousins that go to University of Virginia I think. I'm in a college in FL right now, going to go to one in Georgia because its cheaper.

I'm in 9th grade and I've looked at a couple colleges! I really want to go up North for some reason.. I've looked at Purdue, which was insanely nice IMO. The requirements for getting into Purdue seemed pretty high, but I'm sure I can meet them. Also, I've looked at some in state colleges like UNC, which seemed okay. It just doesn't specialize in the fields I am interested in.

I think I still have plenty of time though! ^.^

Meh, it's never to early to start planning eh? :P

But I see what your saying, I'm probably going to wait till my junior year until I decide what field I want to go into, and then maybe my senior year I'll get more into specifics. :ph34r

I go to college in arizona. I want to major in history, but in that sense i am just not sure where i want to go with it. I have always had an interest in renaissance and medival times. and shiney it is not about the money its about what you enjoy, what interests you the most. when choosing a major it is something you enjoy not something you just want because of the money you get.

Take me for example i was a computer hardware technology major, i decided that was not where i wanted to be. Simply put i did enjoy it or so i chose history. Now the pay might not be as great, but its the enjoyment knowing you chose something that you know that you could go to work and enjoy what you do.

What about if we do early admission and/or concurrent enrollment while still in HS? Hmm? Would we need to worry about it then? And personally about colleges, I either dont know if I should go to college or not; If I do, I'd pick between the University of Tulsa aka TU in Oklahoma, or maybe MIT, maybe even the computer school of ITT Technical Institute. Of course I'd probably NEED to get a college in-state because out of state the tuition is fine and whatnot. I will major in computers. Minor? Either not have one, or music. Or a spec. foreign language if I have the time.

I'm a senior this year. Applied ED1 for Colgate a few weeks ago. If that goes through, then everything is a whole lot simpler. If not, I have a few back-ups in mind. Ithaca, St. Lawrence, Swarthmore, Vassar etc. But I'd love for Colgate to accept me.

Going to major in Astronomical Physics, minor in either Math, or German. Not sure yet.

I'm OUT of college. I majored in English and Psychology. I graduated with a Bachelors degree.

I'm never going to college. I'm too stupid to go to college. That, or I'm just too lazy.
