Title: Learning the Guitar
cornflakes - December 17, 2007 02:02 PM (GMT)
I just picked it up more than a week ago after procrastinating for years. =) Anyone else play the guitar? I'm playing the acoustic guitar.
I can get the chords, but changing between the chords I still can't do, even after lots of practise. I sorta feel like Luke Skywalker when he was training with Yoda. "You ask the impossible" and all that.
Still trying to lift the -bleep-ing X-wing. I know I'll make it. Someday. :huh

I'd like to learn to play the guitar... I like making music.
However, I'm more vocally inclined than anything. I only play flute right now, with a bit of self-taught piano (just enough to practice singing). I wish I could pay to have my piano shipped down to where I live now, but it's 80 miles, and that'd cost a fortune.

Hehe, I played the flute once, in middle school music class. My flute is rotting away somewhere in the dark recesses of my room now though.

I play that guitar too, as well as the bass guitar. When I started, I found it hard to even hold the thing. lol
It took me time, ive been playing for 2 years now and sometimes I still find it diffucult to position my fingers for different chords.
Goodluck!

Sounds good. It's a lot of fun isn't it. I sometimes have a little play around with my acoustic guitar, though I am not an intermediate user, I just like listening to the notes, and letting the melody fill my heart, as the vibrations are most wonderful to listen to.
All that counts is that you enjoy learning, the rest usually unfolds on it's own, the longer you practise.
Hows it going now anyway?

I'm learning guitar, got a few songs down and chords. I have a lad that comes over every week and we practise together.

I play guitar, alto sax, keyboards (piano and synths), theremin, drums and bass guitar. I'm still learning on all my instruments, and I'd like to be a teacher when I have more experience.
