Title: Your hometown

[$]Xarina - March 26, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)
Do you hope that someday your hometown would be world famous for something? What could it be famous for?

Aoi - March 27, 2008 11:15 AM (GMT)
My hometown is a really small and simple town. I don't think I would like it to become famous because I like it being a small town.

My town (Manchester) is all ready pretty famous for being the home of Manchester United, and lots of iconic bands have come from Manchester.

My hometown (VA Beach) could be famous, but it's not. It's a great place, just not many people know about it lol

Hmm living in a small town and wouldn't really care if it becomes world famous.
It would be famous I guess because of The Van Gogh museum no other reason really.
As for nationwide fame: Motorraces and Skating marathons (almost) yearly and possible because we had the best Disco in Northern Holland for a couple of years (though it sucks now adays)

Wow I used wiki on my closest town http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr%C3%A4ndefors

:( Nothing, the only reason it could be famous for is probably if someone would start a band there :XD:

My hometown used to be pretty small and boring but latley its starting to teater (SP?) on the edge of becoming a mini city. Alot of shops have opened up in the past 16 or so years i lived here and along with that alot more residents/customer. As for bieng famous i dont know......For our town it would just be an achievment to get the title of "city" alone lol.

Regarding Atlanta, GA I don't have to "hope", and for anything regarding this metropolitan city. Atlanta is quickly solidifying, IMO, its reputation for being choked with traffic, being plagued by corrupt and inept local politicians, and for continued chronic, and violent crime, all by itself. I believe this city is going to hell in a hand basket. I hear a lot of positive things spoken about Atlanta, and read a lot of positive things written about this city in magazines and the newspapers. I live here and I ain't seeing it, only the sprawl, the traffic, crazy and rude drivers, overly expensive apartment complexes everywhere, petty crime that seems to plague every corner of the city, potholes in the streets that are never repaired, and news broadcasts every week about another local politician nabbed by the FBI for taking kickbacks and/or influence peddling.

I live here because of the job market. That's it.

We already are the most livable city in the world, fashion capital of Australia, music capital of Australia and much more.
But we can also do a lot more. :P

How is it going in New Orleans?

Not meaning to pour salt on old wounds, but is there still any wreckage?
