Title: WWE / TNA Wrestling Chat

Welcome to the WWE & TNA Wrestling Chat! Here you can discuss anything wrestling oriented.
Anyways, I watched Wrestlemania 24 on YouTube in several parts and I must say the Money In The Bank, Flair VS HBK, Orton/Triple H/Cena, and Edge/Taker were all VERY awesome and definetely surpassed all my expectations. A vast improvement over last years!
SMRPG1 - April 3, 2008 05:05 AM (GMT)
Flair vs. Micheals stole the show.
I watched it over PPV.
Definitely best PPV I have seen in years.
Top Kirby - April 3, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I have to agree. I didn't think WM24 would be all that great other then the MITB but man was I wrong and so were a lot of people. XD
MITB was my fav by miles....Morrison with that ladder moonsault, the freaking suplex/powerbomb combo off the ladder, Shelton almost dying falling from that 16 foot ladder through one head first. (That was plain SICK to watch)
Flair VS HBK was definetely awesome and a VERY emotional roller coaster match indeed.
Taker, 16-0 and won the title again! Yay! DON"T GET INJURED AGAIN Taker!!! I want to see you have a long run this time! >_<
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 01:36 PM (GMT)
Flair VS HBK was the match of the year and should have been the main event, but I understand why Ric didn't want it to be the main event. Undertaker is the only person that should be champ on Smackdown right now and I am glad that they choose WM to give it back to him. 16-0! Cena/HHH/Orton was ok. Nice that they didn't give it back to Cena yet and HHH decided not to use his power to claim RAW for himself again. Looks like Orton will be champ for a while, huh? Big Show VS Mayweather was better than I thought it was going to be. Money Mayweather is the best non-wrestler to work for the WWE. He did a better job than Tyson, Trump, and K-Fed... he did a hell of a lot better than Pacman Jones did over on TNA. The MITB was sweet as hell as always, but Shelton (sp) should have won. He worked that match hard, but CM Punk winning wasn't bad either. Shame how far ECW have fallen to get a :08 sec. Championship match on WM, but thank you for getting the title off of Chavo. Kane deserved some type of gold for the work he has done, so ECW gold will do for me. I mean come on, who on ECW is champion-like that shouldn't be on another brand? CM Punk should be on Smackdown, Shelton should be on Raw as the IC Champ. The worst match was that dumb BunnyMania match... I thank TNA for showing me that there are great women wrestlers out there in the world because in WWE, the 2 female workers that are any good (Mickie James and Victoria) was NOT IN THE MATCH!!! All of the other Divas are just eye candy.
On to RAW, I loved how they did the Ric Flair sendoff. It was the best thing WWE has done in a long time. The Four Horsemen, Ricky Steamboat, Dean Meilenko (sp), Harley Race... so much respect to a person that really deserve it. I'm not alone in saying thank you Nature Boy. WOOOOOOO!!! Everything else that night was just forgetable because of the final 15 mins of the show...
And to ECW, Wow...what was the point of this show? Well, it showed me that people like the idea of Kane being the ECW Champ. Duh. We see CM Punk coming out for no real reason. "Look at my breafcase..." Chavo was there...I never know why he's around anymore... and Shelton was there, the best heel on ECW...not saying much. The main event was the best match on the show (again, not saying much because it was the only real match). Someone remind me...why is Mike Knox on my TV again? What, they want him to be a big name monster again? Why do they think it will work this time? Poor Stevie... He deserves so much more... And Mikey Whipwreck's wannabe was ok if you like seeing him get beat every night... oh well, at least when he starts winning, it will be a total surprise to us all.
It looks like Chavo and Edge will get rematchs at Backlash while JBL gets a shot at Orton. Other than Edge for his great preformance at 'Mania, do any of the men I mentioned even deserve a title shot?
Yeah... I didn't think so either.
I bet you that on Smackdown, they will do something with Kane and 'Taker, both being champs and brothers. They may tag, but I bet that they will be force to have a match against each other.
Top Kirby - April 3, 2008 05:37 PM (GMT)
Flair definetely got an incredible send-off. Probably one of the BEST in wrestling history so I'm sure he's VERY happy with how everything came out. I know I would be. XD
Should be interesting to see where CM Punk goes with his Money In The Bank briefcase. Will he seek Taker or Orton? I think he'll probably go after Orton!
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 05:44 PM (GMT)
Yeah... but the way WWE is treating him, he may end up back on ECW fighting Chavo for the ECW title after Chavo wins it back from Kane. I pray they don't do that, but then again, it's WWE. To creative there, logic need not apply. -__-
But the send off was beautiful. The added bonus footage of Undertaker kneeling to Ric and Vince himself coming out to raise Flair's arm in victory... then all of the superstars bowing to Naitch as he walked you the ramp... the greatest thing I've ever seen in wrestling. I am so glad I was alive to see it.

Maybe he was at one point in his prime but now the torch is being passed on. The best in the business in my opinion now would have to be Kurt Angle whether he's become an a** or big ego'd, the guy can still freaking wrestle and do an insane amount of crap in the ring.
TNA is lucky to have him and they better hang on to him with all they have got.
Oh yeah, I also hear WWE is planning to have Big Show face the Great Khali soon. UGH, that will probably be a god-awful feud....safe to say Show will be the face in that encounter as everyone hates Khali. XD
fearless freak - April 3, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
Kurt is the best wrestler on the TNA Roster (second best being Joe) and they are smart to put thet title on him. They just need to work on TNA talent instead of working on former WWE talent. Angle VS Styles VS Joe for the TNA Title, people!!!
Top Kirby - April 3, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
I'm happy to see that Christian is being used properly over at TNA. I'm glad to see him being a world champ there and doing all these great things.
Hopefully WWE will treat Punk the same way and push the man straight to the moon. Him and Jericho would be an amazing feud to watch! They could have five stars matches throughout this year easily.
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
The Instant Classic was misused in the WWE for sure. Christian is doing great over in TNA (better as a hell to me, but the fans like him as a face, so w'ever lol)
And if WWE was looking at ROH they would know that CM Punk was great as a heel... I'm just saying to think about it later.
Top Kirby - April 3, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
MVP and Matt Hardy for Judgement Day could be an EXCELLENT match as both are great in the ring. (I was never big on MVP till I saw his match with Benoit at last year's Mania....he really impressed me with his techincal prowless and since then I have some solid respect for the man.)
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 08:39 PM (GMT)
Why JD? Why not start it up at Backlash for the US Title?
Top Kirby - April 3, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
Oh, I thought Judgement Day was announced as the next PPV? o_O;
Regardless of where it happens, Matt & MVP I'm sure will have a NICE 4-5 star match! If it's a Ladder Match too, hell....even more exciting!
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
Naw, it's Backlash. they set up two matches for it already.
I'm just saying, throw the title in there. Matt deserve some singles gold.
Top Kirby - April 3, 2008 10:25 PM (GMT)
I'm willing to bet that Edge will execute his rematch clause against Taker at Backlash too. I'm sure their 2nd encounter can top their Wrestlemania one if it becomes NO DQ. O_O
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 3, 2008 10:44 PM (GMT)
He will. Chavo will get a rematch too and Backlash and they plan to have JBL VS Orton at Backlash too.
Top Kirby - April 4, 2008 12:11 AM (GMT)
JBL VS Orton!? Are you serious!? Both of them are heels....I can't see how that will play off well. o_O;
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 4, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
I don't get it either, but that's what they are trying for at the moment. I really don't see the point of it other than they don't want Randy to lose the title yet and is just feeding JBL to him. Hell, they could have used someone like Kingston or hell even Jim Duggan for something like that...
Top Kirby - April 4, 2008 12:49 AM (GMT)
I suppose Orton can add the self proclaimed "Wrestling God" to his list of Legends killed although Bradshaw hasn't really made MUCH of an impact singles wise at all really. XD
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 4, 2008 01:00 AM (GMT)
He faced Jericho and lost the program and won a very stupid program with Finley (sp) that he should have won... Oh well, as long as someone shuts JBL up... btw, he really needs to hit the gym and get back to his old self if you wants to wrestle good again...
Top Kirby - April 4, 2008 06:01 AM (GMT)
Bradshaw has never really been a GREAT wrestler. He shines in the No DQ matches however and is a solid heel but that's all he has going for him in my opinion. Orton is gonna be carrying most of the match as JBL isn't exactly "technically" sound.
As for Big Show VS Great Khali possibly being built up soon.....that is gonna be a disaster. Show has far more in ring ability and has IMPROVED immensly. Especially when he was with Heyman, he did some new moves like that standing leg drop across a guy's chest and that Cobra Clutch backbreaker! Plus he's got his OWN cool Silent Palm Chop across the chest. XD
What does Khali have? He looks like a hulked up midgit on HUGE 2x4s lumbering around doing karate chops to the head, SLOPPY big boots and headbutts.
SMRPG1 - April 4, 2008 06:20 AM (GMT)
Seems I missed alot.
On the previous page. TK, Flair is still a God amongst wrestlers whether he's past his prime or not. The man has more talent then a lot of wrestlers have today and Flair is 59. No one will ever be able to touch the status that Flair has gotten no matter how hard anyone tries.
Imo Joe is a better wrestler than Kurt. If it was Kurt a few years ago then I say differently. Joe/Punk matches from Ring of Honor are really what make me like Joe better than Kurt.
Reason for JBL to be challenging Orton? New faces in the main event. I'm bored of having it be Orton, HHH and Cena. Cena is going off to do his movie and HHH is probably gonna go do something. HBK is probably gonna feud with Batista and his long awaited heel turn. Why couldn't Batista do that a while ago. Matt would of been a nice challenger but he has to finish with MVP first me thinks. A heel vs. heel match hasn't been done in a while and JBL is gold on the mic and can be good in the ring. But we haven't seen that for a while. JBL vs. Orton looks great. I don't see JBL winning but I would be fine with it. But Orton is now a credible threat to anyone who holds that WWE title.
TK I'm pretty sure Show has used those moves before. But yes Show vs. Khali won't be a great match and nor should we expect it to be. Vince loves big men and he likes making them wrestle together. Khali has proven he can put on a good match but it depends on who he's facing. Just remember Cena got a good match out of Khali last year. Show needs the win imo if they want to do Taker vs. Show in the summer.

I'll admit this much, Flair is excellent on the mic and he does have considerable skill in the ring (I know Flair's popularity is through the roof too) but I think there is one man who is better then Flair.....and that is Bret Hart.
No one can deny his technical prowless, his promos were just as good too and he too was very popular. So if you want to talk about GOD amongst wrestlers I believe Bret Hart is one deserving of that title as well. Bret and Flair were NEVER friends and they have always had issues with each other but from all of the stories I heard Hart talk about him he didn't come off very nice.
Then again, HBK and Bret can't stand each other either so I guess it's kinda a moo point.
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 4, 2008 10:29 AM (GMT)
I see a Summerslam with Taker VS Cena for some reason. But yeah, they could have used anyone else for Show. The Not So Great Khali messes up every program he is in... on well, gaint VS gaint I guess.
Top Kirby - April 4, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
I'd love to see Taker VS HBK at Wrestlemania 25 next year! I mean they had some INCREDIBLE battles in the past two years of the Royal Rumble. They had a NICE end fight in 2007 and they started it off in 2008 and lasted till almost the end.
I'd love to see what they can do in a ONE on ONE encounter at the grandest stage of them all!
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 5, 2008 01:10 AM (GMT)
That should happen if you ask me. I mean the two texens fight in Texas? Gold!
SMRPG1 - April 5, 2008 02:53 AM (GMT)
I think the match could happen especially since both men aren't to far away from retirement if you ask me. It would be nice to see Taker reach 20-0 at WM but I don't think he will be wrestling full time in 4 years because he's starting a real estate company. Shawn is Shawn. :P
It could be a great match as we haven't see a one on one match up from them in years.
Anyone else notice Taker's best matches at WM were the past two?
Top Kirby - April 5, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
I think Taker's match with Orton from Mania 21 was just simply one of his best battles. I mean there were quite a few times I thought the deadman was done for in that match. O_O;
That RKO reversal from Taker's chokeslam threw me for a loop as did Orton's dad coming in out of nowhere and blasting him with the cast.
SMRPG1 - April 5, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
I was gonna say Orton vs. Taker but that was an ok match. Better than Mark Henry.
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 5, 2008 04:16 AM (GMT)
Cha... it's rumored tha 'Taker is retiring next year at WM25. I really hope not...
Top Kirby - April 5, 2008 04:29 AM (GMT)
I hope not either! Taker for his age still looks to be in SOLID condition and I think he could go for a few more years.
SMRPG1 - April 5, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
Yea but he has a real estate company to run.
Top Kirby - April 5, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
Yeah...."Real Estate" in a** kicking and keeping his yard clean of any n00bs that may cross his path. XD
J/K yeah I know he does REAL Real Estate too. But he should continue wrestling though as he still does awesome in it.
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 6, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
I'm guessing that Kain will take over the Undertaker pop when Taker is gone. Hmm... Kain doing the Last Ride...
BTW, I totally called them doing something with Taker and Kain on Smackdown!
SMRPG1 - April 6, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Kane I don't think will be around much longer. He's getting old and he really is getting out of shape. Though he still is great in the ring. Not to mention he thinks of pushing other stars then himself. That's kind of why he's only held the World title once in his WWE career. Though a nice Kane vs. Undertaker program would be nice to see again.
Top Kirby - April 6, 2008 05:12 PM (GMT)
Since Kane is the ECW champion, maybe he will work harder to put on EVEN more watchable matches.
SMRPG1 - April 6, 2008 05:23 PM (GMT)
Kane can put on watchable matches. It's just his opponents that don't always do it.
Top Kirby - April 6, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
I thought Kane's feud with MVP a while back was pretty good. Especially his Inferno Match with him.
