Title: Do you drive the speed limit?
Ryanplex - April 5, 2008 05:33 AM (GMT)
Well I got pulled over today doing 45 in a 30, oh joy right? lol I managed not to get a ticket or anything though because I talked my way out of it :). But ya now iam curious how fast you guys drive, I can’t be the only one who does 15 over :P. Also if you have/do drive over the limit have you got any tickets for it? Or hell have you got any traffic tickets at all? What where the outcomes of those tickets?
And as a side note, I hope none of you guys driver 20 or more over the limit. If you do I will seriously die from laughter, and even quicker if you haven’t got any tickets, not really but ya lol :P.

I usually drive about 5 miles per hour over the speed limit. I have heard from different sources that the police generally will not stop anyone going at that speed. The reasons I have heard are that the there is no fine for driving 5 miles per hour over and that you cculd claim problems with your speedometer. I have never had a ticket for speeding.

When i feel like it, i am most always speeding. Otherwise, my normal driving pace is almost always at least 5 mph over the limit

Well it was totatlly a dumb mistake on my part, thats why i got pulled over. Driving late at night, doing 15 over in town, and basicly bieng the only car on the road is like plastering a "ticket me now!" bumper sticker on your car lol.
But ya most people do 5 over, cops could care less about that........well most :P.

If the cops are having a bad day i'm sure they'll pull you over for doing 1 mile over the speed limit.
sparklynshiney - April 5, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)
when the cops are around, i go like 5 above the speed limit.
any other time.. usually im trying to get where i need to go...so im moving lol. plus i get bored driving slow.
editt;; there IS a fine for driving 1-5 miles over the speed limit. it's pretty small though. i guess they think its not worth it?

I guess. Although you cant expect someone to drive at the exact speed limit 27/7, they are going to go a little above or below. The only way to stay exactly at a speed is via cruse control, and you cant always use that in every situation.

I'm generally good at sticking to the speed limits on roads, but once on the motorway, I generally plough along at 80mph. *guilt*

I tend to go about 10 over the limit. They don't pull you over for that around here. Although when on the highway I sometimes don't notice, then look and see I am doing 140 in a 100 zone. Never been pulled over though. Except once, but I got out of that easily enough.

I speed a little. Mainly on interstate. Never gotten a ticket though. At least I haven't yet.
Luffy Senpai Negima - April 11, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)

Yay for those of us that drive only 5 or 10 over. :D I thought I was the only one.
I've had seven deaths at my school since I was a freshman (I'm now a senior), most of them being automobile accidents, so I've become somewhat paranoid. Haha.
Zunder - April 14, 2008 07:44 PM (GMT)
On a motorway I would top a hundred which is 30 over, but well, everyone does it.
Aoi - April 14, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
Most of the time I do the speed limit though I have gone a little over it at times. After paying a huge ticket, I choose to do the limit. Can't fork over that amount of money again >_<
Desire - April 27, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
I do 10-15 over the speed limit on highways, residential areas, I go about 5-10 over. It's easier to drive faster than slow I think so. Plus you get there faster :D.
Steeleman - April 30, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
Some times but most of the time i drive 5-10 MPH over.
