I know it is a minor matter on message boards as many keep them, but I'd like to propose to the CL Administration a way of contributing. Removing the Google ads. They are minor, yes, but wouldn't you like to see this place without them cluttering the top and bottom of the webpages? I know I would, and sure a lot of members would too. And I'm not gonna say the staff pay, because what kind of proposal is that?

I will pay for it. It is a monthly fee, but for CL I'd do it. CL is only to get more and more traffic and members would appreciate the no ads and I would more than gladly keep them off CL for you all. I may seem as I'm trying to get promoted, but no, I'm not. I just want to see this place get better and better and the ads being removed would only help.

Yes, it does seem as if you are begging for a promotion. If you want a promotion, work hard for it, don't use your bank account.

Like I said, I care not what happens to me in the end. Why would I stoop to the level of begging? Hmm...no...its not who I am. I am me, and if I get promoted or not is up to the staff, not I. What I do is because its what I fully wish to do. Rewarded or not, I care not. It foolish to care about it. It only lessens the chance, trust me, I know. Besides, I am new here still. Just joined a couple days ago, not nearly enough time to even be considered. So I've no intention of ever begging.

If I would one day wind up promoted, I want it to be because the staff in their hearts felt I was deserving of it. If I beg, ban me. I am no more special than the rest of the members. If I get promoted due to begging, then the rest of the members who begged need to be promoted. That in itself would cause an uproar. One that would be neigh impossible to settle.

So no, begging is not going to happen. Yes, I admit I would like it, but if that ever happens, let it be the staff's choice, not my own. They know what is best for this place. Or I should hope they do.

The ads aern't that bad. As a skinner, they are worked around. It's a nice thought though, but after awhile, it hits the bank accounts to much.

Before you do this, you might want to take a look into seeing how many hits CL gets, daily, weekly, or monthly before deciding what to do. Like Kei said, it will eventually use up to much money and not be worth it as CL probably would go through Removal Tokens pretty fast.

True. Its alright if I get told "No". It is why I posted this topic in the first place. To get the "yes, we accept" or "No, we have to deny". Either one is fine. I offered and that is all I can do right now. Its whatever the staff want as it is their board. Just an offer, and if it goes through or not really wouldn't cause me pain.

You mentioned promotions alot. I didnt even see that in your posts(by which i mean i didnt really think you'd be asking for a promotio nfrom this). A tip, if you're running firefox install adblock plus. That works woners. You'll totally forget IF even had ads. Otherwise it's really not worth the hassle just to remove ads. What's wrong with them being there? It's not like they're getting in our face anyway.

I used to use FF until it went bad on me. I keep having troubles with it. I now use Opera (which is also getting to be annoying now). And like I said, its not major. Just a little something to help. A yes or no is all I ask from the staff. Not an explanation on why you siad yes or no. True its not in the faces, but I just was thinking it'd be nice to be free of them and with me working full-time soon I just offered.

yeah ad removal can get expensive really quickly hence why most sites don't use it that and with he advent of ad block and other similar software you can block them for free.

However I do know that Kei has an anime site which is the mainsite for this forum and I doubt he mind some money being donated to it so you are more then welcome t donate to it and help him meet his goal.

Anyway like everyone else said it will probably get to be really expensive fairly quickly, depending on how fast we grow at any given point in time. Hell I would have paid to have them removed a long time ago but no iam not willing to pay half my paycheck or more just to not look at ads, sorry CL but a man has to live lol.

Actually I don’t even think my sister who is a pharmacist would have enough money to pay for it after awhile and she probably has more cash than most people. If you have like millions and millions of dollars though and don’t know what else to spend your money on then by all mean shower us with cash, or you could send some of it my way lol jm :P

Why don't you buy ad removal for the current picture ads and put your own less revealing text ads that could blend with the background. In google you will get more than 15 cents per 1000 page views.

Haha you mean remove the current ads and put in the google ads to make up the difference? Wouldn’t that be defeating the purpose of removing them? lol Although I guess you do get x amount of cents every week or so for doing it buy who cares xD.

And I don’t think the ads are supposed to blend into the background, they weren’t made with that concept in mind. The only ways I know how to remove them is to either purchase the ad removal or use some softer where on your end to block them like ryan suggested.
