no, and it never will be.
simplyatbliss - September 10, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
Why would you think it would be dead?
AngelKing - September 10, 2007 04:50 AM (GMT)
As long as at least one man is decent towards women, chivalry will never die. Simple as that.
gamesir - September 10, 2007 10:17 AM (GMT)
Because I see idiot men who have no respect for women, are really themselves all the time. Maybe they weren't raised the way I was, but someone should've told them how to act.
Also, in some cases I've seen girls who take a few things as an insult, thinking that we are belittling them.
Just wondering.
AngelKing - September 10, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
There will always be jerks and there will always be the spoiled. Just have to look past it all to the see the good in others.
Sparkrulean - September 10, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I try to be Chivalrous as much as possibly, but girls just will not stand for it. >,< THEY CRUSH MY LITTLE HEART AND EGO!!!! lol

No, I do not believe it's dead. It is, however, and in my honest opinion, dying a slow death.
TheGremp - October 1, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
I don't think it's dying, but I don't really see the point of it.
saying that guys are "spoiled" because they don't treat girls like they don't have to live a finger their whole life is extremely hypocritical. You're spoiled to death and you call us spoiled for not making you spoiled (if that makes sense lol)
I believe in this little thing called equality, where guys don't get stepped on like doormats and neither do the girls, we're all human, so we should all be treated the same. Treating women and men differently is exactly like treating a poor man and a rich man differently, funny thing is, the first of those two things isn't frowned upon, but the latter is.

Chivalry isn't as popular these days, but not dead.
I think a girl wants a man who is honest and doesn't just do nice things to please his lady.
I know, I Probably be uncomfortable if i was always a gentlemen because that isn't me.
demon_of_darkness - November 16, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
Chivarly never existed in the first place.
OCD3 - November 22, 2007 06:56 PM (GMT)
well that is of course a matter of opinion.
what one person sees as chivalry may not be what another person sees it as. and as angelking pointed out, as long as one person is chivalrous then it will never be dead.
but its on a much larger scale than that, as long as one person sees one person behavior as chivalrous, then it will always be alive.
demon_of_darkness - November 22, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)
Well then you explain what YOU mean by chivalry then we will decide.
OCD3 - November 22, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
personally, my view of chivalry is much...higher than the average person.
considering the fact that i was raised by women
Dark_Plague - December 7, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
Chivalry was never dead, and never will be. It's an instinct of politeness that all good men and women have.
Drgnmastr_Alex - December 7, 2007 06:19 AM (GMT)
Chivalry won't die. Trust me on that one.
Stetekai - December 13, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
I'd say it's evolving not dying.
women want men to be honest and kind but not treat them like there made of tissue paper with brains made of sponge cake.
and Men probably aren't comfortable with being 'gentlemanly' all the time becase they'll look like a bunch of panzies.

Clearly you've never gone to Woodfield Mall near Chicago. There you'll see the prime reason why people think chivalry and kindness is dead. I've been glared and and huffed at for holding the door open for people, run into, pushed out of the way, etc. Oh yes, politeness still exists, just not in a group setting.

...crap in a hat. Is their respective stick stuck that high up there? O.o
Chalchihuitlicue - December 13, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)
So it would seem. XD When I first moved here I thought I must be doing something wrong, but now I'm just used to people being complete jerks to everyone around them.
Drgnmastr_Alex - December 13, 2007 10:46 PM (GMT)
I see that often, although mostly on the road. At times I mutter to myself, "Guy behind me, lay off the horn, I'm letting this person get in front because they've been signaling for the past three minutes." It's surprising how people can get rude for the most inane things.
Chalchihuitlicue - December 13, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Well, there are a lot of people in this world under the mistaken impression that the universe revolves around them, and they treat everyone else accordingly.
Bluezone777 - December 14, 2007 12:12 AM (GMT)
I agree as it seems being an asshole is all the rage these days but not sure as to how it got that way but slowly and surely it came to being just like that.
Well I try to be nice to others but some don't make it very easy with they way they act.

I did say GOOD people. I didn't say anything about the douchebags of our world. :P
